Statement
I gather, through photographs and words, the faint presences that go unnoticed in everyday life. A road. A family. A piece of land. Light. Silence. Someone's back. The world always leaves behind, just outside the path toward some destination, expressions that have not yet been named. Rather than staging them as something special, I want to look at them again simply as things that were already there. Taking a photograph is not only a way of speaking about what is inside me. I think of it as touching the outside world — and through the distance and unease that surface there, confirming the relationship between myself and the world. I don't wish to change the world in any drastic way. I only hope that by slightly shifting how something already there is seen, a sensation forgotten within someone might be recovered.
